NEWS #2 - TRANSCRIPTION

Good morning to all the people listening. It's been a week since our last broadcast and the shutdown of water supplies all over the planet and unfortunately the situation seems to be getting worse. Major industries have closed their doors, the worldwide distribution network of basic necessities is collapsing, transportation is in chaos and the worst news is that as of today, government drinking water supplies are now exhausted. It's hard to accept, but this is reality. From now on getting drinking water will be a struggle for survival. Scientists had been warning us for decades about the ecological trap we were building: our species has transformed its habitat to such an extent that it’s found itself in an evolutionary dead end.

What's next? In the newspapers we read that the episodes of violence follow each other at an impressive pace a bit 'everywhere: looting, riots, uncontrolled migration flows. The dead are now counted in the millions, especially in areas where water was already running out before the global crisis. International institutions and governments are trying to manage a dramatic situation, it seems an almost impossible task. Perhaps, however, there is still hope, at least for all those who can hear us. Some of our reliable sources report that there is still a small reservoir of drinking water, in a sparsely populated area in southern Norway. It’s what remains of the Jostedalsbreen Glacier, once the largest in continental Europe.

The location is in Vestland County at these geographical coordinates: 61° 42′ 38.16″ N, 6° 55′ 27.12″ E. It seems that here there is still a source of drinking water that would allow a small community of people to survive. Wherever you are, try to reach this place with your families. Only a few will remain to guard the radio station from which we are broadcasting to ensure our information service, which has now become a vital reference-point for many people who listen to us. The transport situation is desperate, it will be a difficult and dangerous journey, but at this point it seems like the last chance we have.

As in the past days, please send your reports on our forum, now it's more important than ever. Only by helping each other we will have some hope to reach the water and survive.
